Hello friends! My name is Friendleigh.I am the founder of Friendship for Friends. I will refer to the members of this group as "friends" from now on. I will be telling you a little about myself in this post. I encourage other friends of the group to tell about themselves as well. I do discourage friends telling private information like there name, where you live, and other informationlike that. Not because we would not be interested, but because it is just an online safety precaution. We do want to here safe information about yourself though.

About me:

I have optic nerve hypoplasia,which is basically a medical condition where your optic nerves are underdeveloped. There is more to it than that, but my medical condition is not the focus of this post. I am legally blind, but I thankfully have some vision in one eye. I try to not focus on my limitations and what I cannot do, I try to focus on positive thoughts and what I can do.

I am taking classes online to earn my associates degree in general studies with a concentration in criminal justice. This degree would normally take two years, but I am only taking one class a semester, and no classes in the summer at all, just in the fall and spring semester. I do not take any classes in the summer because that semester is shorter, and has less time to cover everything in the class. I am only taking one class a semester so that I will not get overwhelmed. I also love to learn, and I want to make it last as long as possible.

I also volunteer at the food bank and thrift store four days a week, two days for the food bank and two days for the thrift store. The food bank is a place where clients come in small groups and they can choose what food you want, instead of people just putting it in their car. The thrift store helps support the food bank, such as helping pay the rent and utilities of the building. People donate clothes, shoes, and basically anything else that people want to donate. The thrift store sells the donated items to support the food bank. I have been volunteering there ever since it opened, it will be two years in March.

I have a few hobbies. I never really liked sports, not that I have anything against sports, they are just not my thing.

I like to ride my golf cart. It is a lot of fun. My golf cart is sort of like my "car". I cannot get my driver's license due to my visual impairment, so my golf cart is the closest thing that I will ever get to driving. I do not consider that a negative thing.

I like to read. I read pretty much anything, but I like classic books, fiction books, and mysteries the best. I like to read on my Kindle Fire where I can make the print big.

I like to watch television. I watch a lot of different shows, but my favorite channels to watch is Investigation Discovery and Animal Planet.

I like to learn. I think knowledge is the most important thing to gain.

I like to search the Internet for educational articles to read.

I like to swing on my swing on the patio and relax.

I have a Venus flytrap that I like to take care of. I named her Venus.

I like to listen to music. I like mostly all music, but my most favorite genre of music is country music.

I like taking care of my animals. I have a cat and two goldfish. I use to have two cats, but one of them died a little over a year ago. I had him for eleven years. His name was Napoleon. I could never replace Napoleon, but I was going to get another cat, but my other cat does not get along well with other animals, including cats. He got along with Napoleon pretty well because I had Napoleon first. My other cat's name is K.C., short for Kitty Cat. I have had K.C. For about five years. My goldfish's names are Goldie and Ginger, because of their color. I have had my goldfish for about a year.

Well I guess that is my basic hobbies and the basic things about me.
