here in Oz, it's the coolest part of summer, long hot days ahead.

LJ, don't forget some nice warm donuts to go with that cider. One of my most favorite memories of winter was about 12 years ago when my wife and I were on a trip down to Pigeon Fordge, TN. We went to a park called DollyWood, and they were all decorated with lights for Christmas. It was beautiful, but, it was also really really really ( yes, that was THREE Really's) cold. So before we got onto this old train to ride through the hills, we each got a cup of hot wassail, and sipped it on the train. The ride is only about 10-15 minutes and it kept is nice and warm.

Now I've had many a wassail since then, and have made several recipes at home, but that is the one by which all others are judged, and so far, none have measured up. I think the atmosphere has a lot to do with it. Ya think? ;-)

November is nice. Good memories of Mom's cooking and Turkey dinner on Thanksgiving. Then the leaves and snow. As a kid we played football in the snow or the mud or whatever. Now November reminds me my oldest is turning 39 this year and I am old. Ugh. Dec 6 I turn 68. Grateful to the cardiology surgeon for extending my life another 12 years so far. Hope for another 12 at least.

I use to love eggnog and nutmeg but cannot have that..... doctor's orders.

We average 7-8" of snow for a normal November. We are currently at 20" and another 10 is coming over the next 3-4 days with blowing and drifting followed by some freezing rain. We are so in trouble. LOL We usually get this depressed until lat Jan or early Feb, and by then you can see the end. Now it's like WHAT, 4 months of this crap? LMAO And with a busted snowblower too yet.
