Friends til the end Community Group
A group for those of us here who get more from our friendships than from the available discussion groups. A place to be accepted and appreciated for who we are. Somewhere to always feel safe and know that especially on the bad days we are here for each other .A place for encouragement and love.
It happened in 1841 too I think?
For the most part, we only see one President per calendar year,
excepting the three weeks in January before a new President takes office.
If any year sees three Presidents, then something catastrophic has occurred.
This has only happened twice, and both times it was in fact catastrophic.
In 1841, Martin Van Buren gave way to William Henry Harrison, who died
one month later, thrusting his Vice President, John Tyler. into the Presidency.
Then, in 1881, it happened again, when Rutherford Hayes left the keys to James
Garfield, who was gunned down six months later, forcing Chester Arthur to assume
the role.
This phenomenon has not occurred since 1881, which
is good because we’re guessing it’s not as fun as it sounds.
