Yes, ~ Krypton is the home planet of Superman and is named after the element krypton, which is abundant in its atmosphere.

The origin story of Superman relates that he was born on the alien planet Krypton, before being rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father moments before Krypton's destruction.

Discovered and adopted by a Kansas farmer and his wife, the child is raised as Clark Kent.

At a young age he begins to display various superhuman abilities, which he uses to benefit humanity through a secret "Superman" identity.
