We're "the city of big shoulders." We're mid-westerners who love to get out year-round...and with our winters, it isn't always easy. Chicago has events to help draw us out too. You can go to the big events such as the Taste of Chicago, Blues Fest(to me, summer begins), Jazz Fest(starting, September 1st this year(my version of summer ending), Venetian Night, when boaters of all kinds decorate their boats with a theme such as Mardi Gras or Dreams or whatever. We have hundreds of great pizza restaurants, or local pizza joints. Our neighborhoods welcome people to rib fests and music fests...including Park Districts' music concerts and movies....just a small sampling to get you to visit!

we actually have a stainless steel arch that is called the gateway to the west.....and we have Anheiser Busch brewery home here....it used to be our home town was the king of beers but then they got bought by Inbev and they are a foreign company....

We have a big fish on top of the pub.......its a small country town we all know each other and its a farming town so everything happens at the pub, footy, the cfa, the post office and the servo. We have bands play at the pub, and believe it or not a bit of a art show there too.
it gets crazy in summer coz we are 20 minutes or so from the beach and everyone comes home for Christmas and new years so the pub is where we all met up....they believe it or not do a really good coffee then you go over the road for pizza.....the best home made pizzas in the area!

My home town has the widest Main Street in the world. It's a small town, but they widen the street if someone else gets close to the record. There is a huge lake there. All the kids "cruised" the State Park on weekends. Home of the Dixie drive-in, which has the best cheeseburger I've ever had. Still has a drive-in movie theater. Everybody there knows all your business, which is why I relocated to my present city-LOL!

Our state has one of the oldest Inn's with wonderful dining, also lots of antique shops, music in the parks. Very nice here but like Lesa said everyone knows all your business here..lol

Those towns seem to be everywhere!

we live well it use to be in the bush but now there are a lot of houses out here on the lake road .....most like to fish summer ice fish in winter ......there are a lot of huts on the lake in the winter but we put ours far away from everyone's elects ............love all out dors activities ....summer and winter ........but now ........we have been amalgamated with the city ..and you have to pay to camp along all the rivers ..and have no axcess to many lakes ......they are for outfitters ......so ...lots of pised off people .....we love our bush ........seeing the wild life ...not to close .......some of them ..lol ......and I love living at the lake .......

Everyone was friendly . It was an apartment building and all the neighbors knew each other .Across the street were grandparents and down the block were all my cousins(my aunt had 6 children) . I liked playing with them because I had no siblings .
