Most recently I'm enthralled with my Kindle as it has 8 or 9 Font sizes, and so far has not disappointed me on a title nor an author!
There are 2 basic sizes, the smaller would be lighter and easier to carry to appointments etc, but the larger one has a bigger screen to accommodate the larger fonts, so that was my choice, and I don't go to many app'tmts where I need it for while I wait around.
They offer a sample of each book and numorous reviews when available.
I'd suggest checking out the Nook as well, because they all have different features no doubt.
There may even be demos on line, but they are so simple that I was using it within ten minutes, and yet I never got really comfortable with the iPad, so that shows how simple the Kindle really is!!!
