My heart goes out to you and I can understand a lot of what you're feeling. Don't ever think you're not good enough though! Please don't think that because you have lympedema no one could love you. That's just not true. It's what inside that counts and the "right" somebody will see that. It's hard dealing with the frustration and depression that go hand-in-hand with a serious illness. I went through many of the same feelings you're expressing with someone a couple years ago. He insisted that he wanted a relationship and I questioned whether it would be fair to him. I think it depends on the personality type. I do think with the right person it's possible. Hang in there and always believe in yourself. You deserve happiness and I hope that special someone is in your near future. Hugs... Lesa

Hi Annery, I have to ask, do the limitations impossed by your symptoms allow you to join support groups for lymphadema and or other groups for those with disabilities? This could be a start toward meeting others who would understand your situation, and bringing joy that could diminish your depression. We all know the that it isn't an easy thing to reach out to others, but many of us are richer for the effort it takes. I truly wish you well and shall be eager to hear how your future unfolds.

Thank you all for listening . It means alot. I am part of the lympedema support group on DS. We share our feelings with the members of the group and support each other. I am trying to join as many groups to get the support i need and develop a positive attitude in life. I believe this group will help me alot, the response has been overwhelming. THE HEART CAN GET HURT EVEN IF YOU ARE A BEAUTY QUEEN OR RICH AND FAMOUS OR AN ALL IN ALL WONDERFUL PERSON... SELF IMMAGE AND EGO AND FEELING OF NO SELF WORTH IS A PROBLEMAL MOST EVERY PERSON WILL EXPREIENCE IN THIER LIFE AT ONE TIME OR ANOTHER. .SO I SAY STOP LOOKING AT THE BROKEN YOU AND SEE THE WONDERFUL YOU. YOU ARE WORTHY OF LOVE THERE WILL BE PEOPLE WHO WILL NOT WANT YOU AND THAT IS A FACT BUT THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WILL STIILL LOVE YOU AND WANT YOU NO MATTER WHAT PROBLEM YOU MAY HAVE. . LET'S ADD IN SOME BLADDER PROBLEMS AND OTHER HELTH ISSUES .LIKE DIBETESE NO BODY WOULD LOVE ME NOBODY WILL WANT ME. WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! IT IS TRUE SOME PEOPLE WILL REGECT ME BUT THERE IS SOME ONE WHO CARES FOR ME AND LOVES ME MORE THAN I HAVE EVER BEEN LOVED.
After my husband died, I did not think I would ever find love again. I was not really looking for it but it did come along. My son is a very short little guy with many handicaps he too thought who will love me? Who will want me? What I told him was what I am telling you Get out and meet people they are not going to just show up at your door. We have to get out and be with people at work at school at hobby meeting at church .at collage. Be honest. I canât hide my size or my age my son could not hide his size and many of his other problems. He can not walk he could not hide that he is in a wheel chair. But love did come his way and he is married now. His wife was blind and she thought who will love? Who will want me? But love did come her way. When they first met, things did not click right away but the more that got to know each other more and more love and companionship came. I was not attracted to my boyfriend at first either but there could not be another man anywhere that loves me more than he does.
So, what I am saying is, STOP using you looks you handicap or you illness as a reason for not seeking the love and attention you want and deserve. It is true it may be a little harder to meet the right person to make you feel loved. Put on you sweetest smile and you best attitude and get the chip off your shoulder. Be a positive thinker. You can and will be happy if you let happiness in. You do have a choice in the matter. Choose to be happy. The alternative is not fun
