Friends til the end Community Group
A group for those of us here who get more from our friendships than from the available discussion groups. A place to be accepted and appreciated for who we are. Somewhere to always feel safe and know that especially on the bad days we are here for each other .A place for encouragement and love.

" What childhood toy / game do you remember most fondly " ?

I had a favorite doll that I adored. My little brother pulled her head off trying to figure out what made her talk. I was heartbroken....

I had a Fischer-Price light up doll house that came with the whole house of furniture and the family and you could actually turn the lights on and off in different rooms of the house and everything...my grandmother got it for me one Christmas and I loved that dang thing so much. I was still holding onto it even when I was a teen (it sat in the back of a closet for the longest time) because my grandmother had passed away and I couldn't bring myself to part with it after that but unfortunately when we moved from my childhood home I was carrying it out to the moving truck and it literally fell apart in my arms and it just killed me that it wound up in pieces in the driveway even though I hadn't played with it in ages. I still have the little family figures and the furniture though in an old bread tin that in a box with other old toys and things.

Paper dolls were my favorite. I had a bride and her bridesmaids set. All those fancy gowns. But then I had a few other sets. I kept them for a long time. Then one day when I came home from school- - just like that- -they were gone. I knew my wicked stepfather got ahold of them. So my Dear Grams and Auntie heard about it. Whenever I went to their homes I was soo surprised. Each one of them had a new set of paper dolls for me. All cut out and just waiting for me. It was the best surprise ever.

I played "Jaks" or hopscotch with all the little girls on my block. I won quite a few ice creams or kool aids from them all. At reunions, we still talk of it.
