' Salespeople ' ?

The most annoying customer gripes include rude and pushy salespeople.

Have you ever walked out of a store due to poor service?

If so, what was the customer service offense?

What really annoys you about salespeople and do certain stores do it more often than others?

I hate it when they ask if they can help me every 2 minutes , after I've already told them I was just looking. If you do need someone you can never find them.

A car salesman was the worst, I just wanted to look at a new car for fun, but he pushed me into filling out paperwork, and when he found out my credit score, he wouldn't even let me look at a car. I couldn't believe it! They had this big promotion that said, 'No one turned away because of bad credit'. I had just gone through a nasty divorce, and my ex had deliberately not paid any of our bills, and then he filed bankruptcy destroying our credit. I felt so ashamed and angry at the same time. I forgive him though...for my sake. :)

Car salesmen are pretty bad...so are furniture sales people. You cannot go into one of those stores and look at a piece of furniture for more than 20 seconds before someone is on you about what you're looking for and what they can help you find.

I think any place where the sales workers get a commision either as part of their pay or instead of any sort of salary, they tend to be more pushy. I can understand it to a point since in those cases they need those sales to afford to live and all, but conversely, if they're too pushy then it can be a real turn off and make you not want to shop there.

Oh, one place I have seen to be pretty bad about customer service in relation to pushy salepeople - vitamin stores. You just step a foot in to one of them and the salesperson is on you and pushing for you to buy all sorts of supplements and weight loss drinks. Doesn't matter if you only went in to buy one thing and know where it is and how much you want, they will still push you try something else. So annoying.

As far as I am concerned, unless I ask for help from a salesperson, I don't want them to bother me. And the only way I'm asking for their help is if something is too high for me to reach, if I'm looking for someone to ring me up, or if I need someone to open a dressing room up on those rare occasions I try things on at the store. Otherwise, they need to back off and just let me shop.
