I do think those of us with chronic pain are far more willing to risk those odds than is the average family member!
the resilience of the human spirit never ceases to awe me, i see people overcome so many challenges here and at work that it's amazing. but i wish that there was more that could be done for chronic disease of all kinds because they rob people of the quality of their life and rob those who care for them of the person as well. that is can be as bad as the disease process, so i can understand how many would take the 1% risk without hesitation. i know i would.
