A group for those of us here who get more from our friendships than from the available discussion groups. A place to be accepted and appreciated for who we are. Somewhere to always feel safe and know that especially on the bad days we are here for each other .A place for encouragement and love.

" Do You Think There Are Too Many Ads On Television ?

Absolutely!!! Especially during already long reality competition shows (Idol, Dancing With The Stars, X Factor, et al) those shows without all the comercials would probably only last 30 minutes but with all those ads packed in they wind up being bloated 2 hour shows. I get that certain shows with big ratings will get the networks a lot of ad revenue so they try to get as many in as possible, but the overload kills the show's momentum (as if their own filler weren't enough) and makes people change the channel. I read that over the weekend people in the UK complained about the number of commercial breaks during X Factor and they said that like half the program's running time was comprised of ads. Didn't seem like it on the internet feed, but I did skip around them so what do I know. Thank goodness for DVR's though - hopefully they will never figure out a way to make you sit through the ads when you watch a DVR'ed program or a lot of people might just stop watching altogether.

Way too many! i especially hate them during football games! A 30 second time out by one of the teams gives you 3 minutes worth of commercials! I hate them! I agree with TES about the reality show length due to all the commercials. I love Idol and hate it when they are going to tell you who is safe and then make you wait until after the ads!
