No poetry or creative excpression in this, IT'S ALL ABOUT ME. And my writing.
Haven't been on DS for ages due to a technical problem.
I've got heaps of serious mental illness and am a 13 years sober member of AA. Had a 15 year career as a PR Manager then my illnesses as well as 6 years of gross misprescription by psych profession lost everything and haven't worked for five and a half years - am on the Disability Support Pension (Australia). And until the middle of last year couldn't do ANYTHING. Had been very high functioning and then for 5 years NOTHING. Tried to die 4 year ago, nearly succeeded and then spent every other day trying NOT to die.
Sooooo, been working my arse off in AA, psychiatry, psychology, heaps of work on myself outside therapy sessions, every freekin' class around mental illness issues I've been able to get into, yada yada yada.
Culminates in me getting a proper sleep apnea machine in the middle of last year and my whole life changed. Still cant do paid work bĂșt wrote a 50,000 word book on my colourful life last year and, if you can believe it have just finished the first draft of FOUR 70,000 words sci-fi books in a series. Have no idea if they're crap, don't know is any of the books witll get published, but it's a BLAST. Now starting back into massive editing, filling plot holes, proofing etc.
I've got my mojo back.
(Life's still very difficult, still got lots of illnesses and am very alone in life, but this part of my life is well...)
May never do paid work again but you creative dudes will understand how life affirming this all is. The creativity is just SPEWING out of me.
Got lots more ideas for books both fiction and non-fiction.
My therapist is amazing. She just totally gets this, and me. I tell her about sometimes working too late (I have Bipolar) and I get hypomanic and cant sleep, then my days go out of whack etc. She NEVER tells me to keep all this writing in a box and be diligent about working hours', never gets strict with it. She just thinks the whole phenomenon is as awesome as I do. She knew instintively I would work out the moderation aspect myself, which I am.
Bring it on.
