When we first moved to Arizona we had a javelina poking its nose at the kitchen window, looking in. Big and scary with tusks. Knocked on the window and it ran away to my neighbor's yard and sat on her front lawn so she couldn't leave the house for a while. When I called authorities they said - javelinas never come into suburban areas! Well maybe not, but it was at my front door! They are a protected species and I wouldn't want them hurt but dang, what a scare! However, it didn't try to ring the doorbell!
I have a gated patio and now I keep the gate shut but not locked. I call it the Javelina Gate for good reason!

They live among us for sure!
Thank goodness nobody was home to answer the door!
Wow.......I'm speechless.
