Wow. That's hard. There are so many choices. Jim Brown, I know won it multiple times as has Peytron Manning. and Johnny U.
I know that both Joe Montana and Steve Young won it twice. But your question thrice and back-to-back-to-back. So, i think the answer is Brett Favre. He won it like 3 or 4 times (I think 4 -to match his jersey number).
That reminds me of a joke -
Q. Do you know why Brett Favre wore the number 4?
A: Because it takes two of him to make one Steve Young (whose number was 8).

While many players have one this award multiple times, Brett Favre is only player to win it three times in a row. It was sometime in the 1990s, I believe 1994-1996
