I started dating this guy after a severe trauma in both of our lives, leading us to bond rather quickly. After only a few weeks, we both said "I love you" (he said it first) and then we had to part ways and go home. Everything was good until my folks found out and got mad because I'm a Christian and he's not. It caused a lot of issues in the relationship, because he could see how much my dad didn't want me dating him, and no amount of consoling on my end could make it better. I tried. I really tried. we broke up about a week ago, and he said it's because of the distance. I suspect the religion also has a part to play. I'm struggling so much right now because he was such an emotional support for me through this rough patch in my life, and I was the same for him. People I've confided in tell me to be patient, that the Lord will provide. I'm so scared though. I've been praying for a future husband since I could comprehend the concept. I've listed incredibly specific things in my prayers that I want him to have and this guy HAS ALL OF THEM. It's like God made this man for me. It's so hard to see him go when the one thing he isn't (Christian) is the one thing truly keeping us apart. I'm praying everyday, but I feel like I've lost this perfect man.
