Hi everyone, I am new here. My name is Ellen. I am 33 years old and was diagnosed with Fibro in 2002. I also belong to the other Fibro group on this site and they brought up how the slightest exertion makes them overheat and sweat. Alot of people replied and they too have this problem. I too have this problem except it is accompanied with a fever. I have had a low grade fever now for months and months that has nothing to do with exertion. And fevers is something I have never had before with my fibro. And then if I do anything at all expecially just taking a shower (a cold shower) I get overheated really bad, my face flushes, I feel sick and my fever spikes to over 101. I don't know why the fever would have anything to do with overheating. So I was wondering if anyone else has this happening or is something else wrong with me? I know that a lot of people with Fibro have low grade fevers but does your fever go up with the slightest exertion? Does it have anything to do with being overheated? And why do we/I overheat so bad? It's miserable for me! Thank you all for any advise you can give.

Hi Ellen, yes i do get low grade fevers, a couple of times it got pretty high, i wish i could tell you why we get these. I always thought it had something to do with my rosea and found out later that other people didn't have it with rosea. but what i do know is that other people may not have the same symptoms that you might have. Sorry i was not much help, but i tink it is rude if someone takes time and post something that we should acknowledge and least write something back. or just sending them a hug. to let them know that they read your post. hugs nae'

I get overheated easily too, and tend to feel like I have a fever, feel very warm when I'm tired.... I think it's just more of the fibro part of our body not regulating itself and operating properly, faulty wiring....lol...

I also get overheated easily Ellen. I don't know if I get a fever, I never check, but I feel like I do.
I think Lisa is right and it's just that our body temperatures cannot regulate properly with fibro.

I use to get overheated then itch all over, thought it was due to the liver. Then I started taking vit c supplements and that has helped, I havent had an episode like that again. Of course there is menopause, I didnt check your age but there are hot flashes.
I think my temp is always below normal, that seems to be what a few others have told me also. Have you had a good physical and complete bloodwork done? Might want tio be checked out again,

Fever is NOT a part of fibro. I run low grade fevers due to autoimmune diseases.. This should be brought to your drs attention. You might want to be tested for autoimmune diseases ie lupus.. Ask Your rhuemy if he/she disagrees go to someone else. hugs marilyn

GOOGLE FIBRO, YOU'LL FIND OUT THAT YOU DO GET LOW GRADE FEVERS WITH FIBRO. EVERYONES FIBRO IS DIFFRENT! I DON'T HAVE LUPUS, I HAVE RAYNAUDS AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF OTHER CRAP!

I too get overheated really fast and it doesn't take that much activity to set it off. I guess somewhere along the line I never saw that this could be a part of Fibro - I always just thought it was something else wierd about me. One more 'puzzle' figured out. Thanks group!

Thanks everyone. I too get very itchy at times. It drives me crazy. I can't take showers half the time because of that too. It makes it alot worse. Maybe I'll try the vitamin C.

Sounds like your skin is too dry if you get itchy after a shower. Is your house too dry? I also know people with liver problems get itchy also. Might me perimenopause, menopause, post menopause, I know I told every specialist I have gone too and they just look at me, like they dont know. So I take the Vit C since I dont consume VIt C due to my acid reflux, seemed to help, Hope you find something to help you,

I dont run a fever, if anything I am never 98.6 always below. Have your dr due a thoroughal bloodwork up and maybe even be tested for things that can show in your genes. Like RA, anklospondylitis etc etc.
