This group is for anyone who has read the book Female Brain Gone Insane. A place to discuss what suggestions from the book you have tried and found successful.
After reading Female Brain Gone Insane, I was very impressed with how informative it was and really laid it out in a point A to point B format. This is how you feel and this is what you can do. About a year ago I tried to work on my neurotransmitters. I bought True Focus which has L-phenylalanine and L-tyrosine to help improve my mood, alertness, and motivation. This didn't hep me at all.
Then I went and had my hormones tested at my doctor's office. It turns out those were normal, but after more testing, they found my adrenals were off and diagnosed me with congenital adrenal hyperplasia. My symptoms are brain fog and fatigue (much, much worse around that time of month), moodiness, apathy, just to name the main ones. Knowing that steroids are the common choice to treat CGH, I have tried many different natural supplements to no avail.
I just ordered Ashwagandha which was listed in FBGI as one of the things to try, and after researching, it seems to be able to help my symptoms to a T.
I have been thinking about sending off for saliva testing for my adrenals, as suggested in the book, but I really wanted to hear from other women who have tried things from the book and hear how successful or not it has been for you.
