Information on cutting and pasting issues

The text boxes here at DS do not like certain characters generated outside of them. This is, I suspect, similar to movie theaters not liking you to bring food and drink in with you. Or not. I digress.

Anyhow, I have created a list of non-alphanumeric characters in Word and copied them to this box. Some work, some don't. Hope this helps.

thanks very much for that. i guess i could just write stuff right here before posting but i find it easier to write it in my wp program and cut and paste.

That&#039;s what I do. I like the spelling and grammer checker on Word. After copy and paste, I go through and replace all (hopefully) the quote marks and hyphens. It&#039;s a PITA and I&#039;ve written DS numerous times about it, but I&#039;ve never gotten a response.

I&#039;ve also tried Notepad, Wordpad, and several other text editing and word processing programs. Same results on all.

Things have changed, it appears. If you compose in Notepad, then you can copy it into a DS composition box and it will display properly, but if you try to use Word, it still messes up.

I guess all the other websites know some secret and aren&#039;t telling the DS coders because this is the only place I&#039;ve ever experienced this foolishness.
