Maybe it's just me, but... I do try to pay attention to when these things occur, and my best clue that this might happen seems to be that I am feeling "removed" from things but still hyper-aware/observant of everything going on around me that day. Not 100% or even sure this really helps, but knowing that the hit may be coming can't hurt.
