Ready for the finals- 2 night event!

Here we go folks, we finally made it to the end. The finals will be on Monday and Tuesday so be sure to tune in.

Too many times really good dancers have blown it in the finals by doing something dumb, especially in the freestyle dance. Early in the season is the time to experiment; by time they make the semi finals, and especially the finals, it is time for the wow factor, not the stupid factor!

The show last night came on an hour late here in the West due to a football game and so I didn't get to watch it all as it ran into the next show which I hadn't set to record. What I did see was OK. No standing ovations, no thrills. Disappointed a bit.

Tonight we see who takes the mirror ball.

On a side note I did see Cheryl at the American Music Awards doing ads for Khols. And Julianne tonned down her racy outfits last night in prep for her and Derek's Disneyland special on T-Day.

The fusion dances last night were nice, but nothing wowed me. I would like the couple to have the freedom to pick the style of dance they like the best (except for freestyle and contemporary and jazz which both seem to be rather like freestyle). This should bring back the wow factor we all like!

The first night of the finals involved a "redemption dance" where the judges picked the dance based on the worst performance the couple had early on. They were nice, but nothing special. The second dance was freestyle. I liked Calvin's freestyle best because it entertained and was very creative!

And the trophy went to Lauri. She was good and deserved it. I would have been happy with either her or James.


And in the end, ...

It was a good season. Most dancers were eliminated in about the order I would have expected. It was not 100% to my expectations, but livable! None of the ones I thought could make it to the final were eliminated early on, and none of the ones I thought had no talent made it past mid season.


But please, PLEASE, put an 18 year age limit on this thing!

Last night's show was like an early Xmas gift. Everyone dressed for the Holiday and the dances were awesome! I especially liked the one with the window scene and the young girl.

Laurie won and also joined the cast of DWTS on the road. Good for her!
