I have a friend who had operations on both hands in his late 50's.
He got a chronic pain syndrome and needed another operation to sort that out. Both hands have had two ops now and he suffers limited function and a lot of pain.
The Dr at the hospital said they would do both hands for me.
I choose to leave em as they are.....
I have another friend in his mid 70's, also needed two ops on both hands.
Another friend in his 70's had what was almost like a web to his ring finger. He chose not to operate and just put ip with it.
Is the cure worse than the disease?
I read that it's a genetic disorder - exacerbated by alcohol-
(no hope for me then LOL)

Well as for being exacerbated by alcohol maybe part of what happens to some folk I can definitely rule that out in my case having never drank alcohol in my life.I can understand the reluctance to getting it operated on at age 70 but in my case I had hit 49 in 2012,which meant when I retired it was some 18-19 years earlier than I had intended to retire.People say ;''oh it must be great all that free time,''..perhaps so but when you have two hands that are limited in what you can do then perhaps not so great.The list of things I used to be able to outweighs what I can do now.
