Drug addicted sister!

Hi,


My sister is a drug addict! I came to know this bitter truth the last week and I am confused! We lost our parents 8 years ago and I have been taking care of her all these years. I don't know what to do and my bf suggested me to get drug addiction treatment for her. I found a list of addiction treatment centres ( http://www.canadadrugrehab.ca/drug-alcohol-treatment/medical-programs/alcohol-drug-detox/#results ) and I am planning to pick one from this. 


Please share your suggestions on this.

Drug treatment can help but it wont cure her. Some people take to treatment well but drug addiction is so powerful it might not take if she isn't committed to making it work herself! Thats the thing about drug addiction; the person who is the addict must be the one to realize they are an addict and accept that their life is unmanageable and out of control and that they want and need help! If your sister is not in this state of mind then rehab will only be a bandaid to a really long problem. If she is their then it may be just what she needs to get back on tract!
Im a former addict myself and believe me when I tell you that drug addiction is a daily struggle sometimes because it can affect the mind and body.
