I have been on meds for my bipolar now for over 2 years, this has been the longest time I've ever stayed on my meds. After all these years I do know I need to stay on meds, but every once in a while I lose hope and toss them in my drawer. Well at the beginning of this month I went to fill up my med containers and just couldn't even look at another pill, so I stopped taking my meds. Due to popular demand from my pd and family doc and friends after 5 days I went back on them, but it wasn't really in my heart, I was just being obediant to others wishes. Well that only lasted a few days and I was off them again! That was a week ago, and it has been the longest week of my life! I made a terrible mistake..(again!)..when I stopped my meds. Today I saw my pd and once again my life is getting in order. I realize now that being off my meds makes me sick, physically, mentally and emotionally and I really do need to stick with it. So once again I am on my meds, I feel very depressed, almost suicidle right now, I have no idea why I feel like this, I shouldn't. This morning I got an unusual "hug" from a wonderful lady, Kelly, she encouraged me in her message. I didn't know who she was and why she sent me a "hug" but now it all fits together, perfect timing on Kelly's part, thank you Kelly.

See, Angels are real aren't they Pulpit? I hope you start feeling better sweetie. That's rough. But we are all here for support and am glad for the people who encourage me too.

Hey, there Pulpit. I can so relate. Sometimes I feel like a baby rattle with all the pills floating in my tummy. LOL HOWEVER, I've learned the really hard way, I need what I refer to "my boys" and never leave home without them. I have usually played "pill pinata" when I get concerned over the side effects (liver damage, ya-da, ya-da) but, I really do NEED them to live/function so, hey, hang in there.

I know it's hard, sweetie, really. BUT WE MUST TAKE CARE OF US for ourselves as well as the others that need/love us.

I understand how you feel. Several years ago, my pdoc had me on seven medications. I was concerned about the side effects and just tierd of taking meds. I seriously thought about not taking them, but realized I needed to be stable for my family and stay out of the hospital. I am taking three meds. a day. Hang in there sweetie, if you need to talk I am here. I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself.

I am so happy to see you here pulpit and thank you for such a wonderful nice message. I always say god puts people in our lives for a reason. You are a reason, to me! I am so happy you decided to go back on your meds to be stable and happy. I think we all fall short and think we don't need them anymore.I have done it and I end up back on. Its okay, we are human, we fall down we get back up! I am here for you any time you need me. Kelly

YO, PULPIT, just checking on you, girl. Take care.....when we are "good" it really is best in the long run......maybe that's the problem, we all want a 1x quick fix, eh? I know that's part of my battle. HUGS

Hi Pulpit. I am new to this group but I know exactly how you feel. I, too, dislike having to take medication and never had to until about three years ago when I started having crying jags for no reason and thought that, maybe dying was better than living. I don't either know or understand why all this happened because I never used to be that way. But I do know this, Pulpit, giving up is not the answer for us. God is very close to you right now and sent one of his earthly angels to you today with a message.

We are the lucky ones because now we have people who care about us in this group and we know that we are not alone. We have eachother. Hang on to that. And if we have to take medication for the rest of our lives then so be it. I sense that you are a person who feels very deeply about things and maybe the turmoil in the world today has something to do with it, I don't know. Just know that there are many who care about you and want you to be happy, okay?

Pulpit Here is another hug for you. Pick it up and perk up. We all have to take pills to keep us going for some reason or another and certainly not because we like it. If I quit my meds I will be bedridden and in bed with my gun instantly so I hear you. Life just isn't fair. But we are here to support each other and keep each other going and that is what I am here for you today. Hang in there and find that reason to keep popping those pills.
