At the risk of sounding sarcastic earplugs lol! It's hard living with others. It's also hard being in pain. As someone who has had 9 back surgeries going up and down the stairs 5 times does wipe you out. Could you give us more information to help you. Like why are you living with her, why are you unable to move etc. Please let us know.

Hey Lisa,

I left NY because family issues. A friend on NH invited me to live with her. Things didn't work out up there because she invited too many people to move into her small space. So a mutual friend in VA invited me down here. Things were ok for a while but the more I got to know her the more I learned how mentally unbalanced she is. I can't have a reasonable Convo with her without her snapping at me. And I don't trust her judgement
She has little common sense.

So I have to try to hang in there a while longer.

i suppose you have to reassess your lifestyle - if you would like to save the money to move out. but before doing that carefully consider pros and cons of each, and also how things might change over time.

Hi Lily, thanks for the additional info. It is never easy living with others. Your in a tough spot. Like a few others have said you need to weigh your options carefully. Are you able to save up enough to move out? Would you qualify for any type of assistance? Just an idea. I hope I didn't offend you with the earplug comment I use them to drown out my husbands snoring lol and when you said she repeats etc that was the first thing that came to mind. Even when things are really hard humor helps at least a little. Your in my thoughts and prayers dear.

Thanks Lisa. It's been very hard for me because I feel like I'm alone. Sure I have some friends and some good neighbors but I feel like i'm walking this path alone. I know God is with me but I have to wonder if he is disappointed in me or angry because of my less than stellar behavior. I mean I know my friend is in pain, and we each handle it in different ways. But I'm one of those who tries to move past the pain and not let it defeat me or put a burden on other people.

It makes me feel better when I am out of the house. I do petsitting and dog walking and I just volunteered to help a cat rescue with feeding the cats and adoption events.

Hi Lily,
Your last response sounds a lot like what i'm feeling now, but under different circumstances. I can kinda relate to both of you. Most of the time i like to keep quiet about my pain, take the stoic approach, but sometimes it gets to be just too much for me and i have to say something even if it's just to the squirrel outside. When i start to feel sorry for myself, i try to catch myself and remember it could be worse. Then i take a mental trip through the halls of TX Children's Hospital and see just how worse it could be. I live alone and have basically no friends, accept for ya'll here on DS to which i'm very grateful.

The repeating thing can be annoying, i know my mother does it. I wish i had more helpful advise.I can extend my friendship and let you know i am available for venting pretty much all the time since i rarely leave the house. I'm excited to hear about your volunteering, those are some darn lucky cats!
