When faced with challenges in your life, do you feel that sometimes God is "testing you"...to see how strong your faith is...to see if you will denounce Him or stand by Him?

Or do you feel that God is so loving that he would never intentionally "test us" by causing you pain...and that the challenges in your life are just the events in life that occur or are caused/influenced by "negative forces" (such as by the devil or evil demons)?

I believe that everything in life that we are put through is for a reason, we don't understand it, but tha Bible says we will not to question the Lord, I love and believe in the Lord with all my heart...I always loved the saying (If God brings you to it, he will see you through it).

God indeed tests our hearts because we are free willed agents free to choose.In short free to screw up or believe in him and be devoted.God does not cause pain on us he puts us out there to see what we will choose.We choose situations our selfs that cause our pain.Because the bible says he is a jealous god.
His commandment says thou shall have NO OTHER GODS before him.
Idols can be anything from money to movie stars to what ever we put above god.
He has to know that we love him unconditionaly and with a free will.

Demons and their emps concience people that there is no god.But one day when we stand at the judgement throne we wont need conviencing we will know there is a god.

I do not like to debate the bible or god he lives in my heart and I shall not be moved.Explaining gods word can become exasperating to those who do not understand or want to decipher his word.
Jesus said 'Iam the way the truth and the life' and thats good enough for me.

Yes I once read this and truly believe it. We come into this life with a certaion something to work on. We have instincts and know what our greatest weakness is and what needs worked thru. I never blame god when things get difficult. In those times my faith grows stronger and I can feel god with me guiding me...helping me.

I do not beleive that God just puts a test out there for us since he already knows our hearts, The people sin and conditions in this world are the reason that we have trials and tribulations. It has been that way through the ages and will continue to do so.

I think life is a test and some exams are very hard and we fail. We're supposed to learn from our mistakes but sometimes we just keep taking the same test and fail. I'm told this is all character building. I'm tired of hearing about that. Yes, God tests us.

Temptation is the key to free will...

1 Cor 10:12-13
12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

About the devil. He is the ruler of the world right now. Not that God is not the total supreme ruler. He gave Satan dominion over the earth for a time. He the devil wanders to and fro to see who he can devour.
