i know exactly how you feel i don't have a big family but the few family members i have only bother with me when they need something!! and certain other members who i was close with all of a sudden treat me like i'm nobody and don't even bother with me anymore. it really does suck when family treats you like crap its ironic cuz the 2 people who were the close ones to me were my 28 yr old niece who we were more like sisters than aunt and niece and the other was my 24 yr old nephew we were so close i thought of him like a lil brother i never had but now i'm lucky if i get a hello every 3 months so much has changed and it hurts me that my family has to be this way but hang in there cuz i know where your coming from and if you ever need someone to talk to i'm here if you need me. keep your head up and i really hope things get better for you. :)

I understand how you feel lilysawyer. it is so hard to feel like you mean something when family and friends avoid you. I believe it is because they feel uncomfortable. They don't know what to say or do for someone like you or me. It is something a lot of people have a problem with. It is depressing for you, I know. There are people out there who understand. I hope you find them in your life one day soon.

I agree with Sisyphis, people you know and love can and will pull away, because they don't know what to do or what to expect. They don't know how to treat you. For them nothing at all is better than doing something wrong!

You are not alone. My family is often a big area of stress for me. I'm here if u need to talk and know that we understand and care

It took my mother's death to make me realize that my family and I would never speak to me again...truth is, I expected it. It hurt for many years before her death. I look back now at that time and honestly? I buried their hurting of me.
I looked to the future without hurt from them, and, quite frankly, it is beautiful!

People can only know what they have known and can only feel what they have felt. I beleive, we have a double burden to bear in that we not only have our physical pain to bear but also the emotional pain of being so detached from a world we were once a part of. That pain is worse than the physical.

The only thing I can think of right now to lessen that pain is for people like us to try our best to transcend the pain-both physical and emotional-so that we may present ourselves to the world in a way that people who have not experienced this can handle us...LOL...I know...but if we show our burden to them they will get too scared to be around us. We have to be extra strong...so how do we do that?
