Hey
Yesterday I went to a counselng appt, I pay on a sliding scale since I don't have insurance (like some people in other countries who don't have to worry about whether they have money to see a doctor. About the only big negative thing I have to say about our wonderful country. sure there are other things but this is #1 on my list)
Anyway I've been going to counseling for 2 years. I've been through 3 counselors. The first two moved out of the states. The first one moved after only 4 months of sessions so I really can't say if she could have helped me or not. The 2nd one moved last april after a year. I did feel she and I made some progress. She had me write down on a 3X5 card methods to deal with stress. Then she recommended I read the "Feel Good" book and we'd go over the exercises. She had me do some exercises on recognising my emotions and how to deal with stress. It pained me when after our session she dropped the bomb on me that she and her husband were moving so they could be closer to family (they'd had a baby girl and wanted their familites to be able to see her)
SO in comes another counselor, my former counselor tries to sell me on the idea that this counselor is very similiar to her. nice and things will be fine. Sure she is nice but the inexperience just shows. My former counselor was about the same age group but it just seemed she knew how to advise me better. I have told her how I feel about our sessions.
Sometimes we do have good sessions but yesterday I just left there feeling very frustrated and alone with no one to really help me. Why am I shelling out money that I really can't afford to shell out every week? (or every other week depending if we can schedule a session that week)
I've tried to ask for another counselor but they said they are filled up. I just have to wonder if things would be different if I had insurance. Of course no one would ever admit that things might be different.
I have a support group (well I have the option of two. both are free) to go to. One meets every Sat and the other meets every 2nd and 4th Thurs. I just got tired of going and don't plan to go tonight. I feel like we just talk about the same thing over and over again.
I should go to the one on Sat, it's a bigger group and I would feel uncomfortable so that was why I went ot the smaller group.
okay sorry this has turned into a novel. I just wanted to vent. I'm just not sure what to do with my life. I'm at a crossroads and don't feel I have anyone to talk to
thanks

What's the most overrated scripted* tv show, in your opinion?*Scrpited, meaning a drama or comedy series - not reality shows, game shows, court shows, talk shows, variety shows, etc. (well, technically talk shows and variety shows often do have writers as well, but for this exercise we're just talking about shows that have both scripts and actors acting out those scripts so really the only show...

I am in therapy for the last 6 years, because of
a horrible car accident...therapy is not always
easy because therapist has her own mind...
One time I left my therapy session because
my therapist said something very negative...
After thinking for about 1 month...I went back
to therapy. It's not always easy for therapist,
counselor to do what they do.We are all
Human...Don't give up! Stay strong and
positive.. I am only a message away.
Love and hugs,
