Because no matter who files - it's still the end of a dream - remember Jack - I filed - and I'm sitting here in Ohio 700 miles away weeping. Now maybe she's not worth it, but I can see that she "might" be having a bad day. Of course, you're the one I care about - so hey tough.

My ex has never shown any emotions except anger, certainly no tears. I cried in front of him quite a bit when I first found out about the affair and when he told me he was leaving. Since the divorce became final I have tried not to give him the satisfaction of seeing me express any sad emotions. I want to turn my life around and make a success of it despite him leaving. They say that the best revenge is to live well. Pemdcat, you are a great guy and have to remember that you were the committed partner in this so naturally you still have feelings for her, even if it is just sympathy. I still love my ex in a small way.

Oh, pemdcat - there must be something in the air. I'm so sorry that you were feeling blue. There's a lot to be said for this wonderful place here on DS that we all come to visit. You were married SO LONG - I think that has a lot to do with some of our deep hurting souls. The more that you put into a relationship and the longer that you do - may have a lot more to do with this gamut of emotion that we carry. No?

You're such a kind and giving man to begin with - you're heart follows your natural core. You don't like anyone hurting - it bothers you greatly. To hear your x upset is no different for you.
