Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
During this whole 8 months I have been able to keep my anger in check with what's happened to me and my kids. I have handled (most) everything with calm and reason, but after his email to me and my kids yesterday trying to justify to them his reasons for leaving and how utterly unhappy he was for 10 years, I am finally pissed off.
I think the fact that he actually filed the divorce papers was the turning point. Up til then I guess part of me still had hope. Now that hope is gone and in it's place is the anger that everyone told me would come.
It pisses me off that he wants a divorce for no real valid reason. Our marriage was NOT that bad. And the fact that he's lying to me makes it even worse. He thinks I'm so stupid. "She has nothing to do with my decision" BULLSHIT, I say.
Well, in the words of advice from my mother, "Christine, if he doesn't want to stay, then let him go". So I say - see ya.
I just want it over with now. I'm ready to move on and make the final adjustments to my life. I know this will still be painful, but I can finally say that the hope I've held onto for so long is GONE. I am ready to channel this anger into fighting for my rights and the rights of my kids.

There's absolutely no reason to end my marriage either except that he doesn't want to be married anymore. Whatever.
Speak of the devil - he just sent me a text. I can't wait for this to be over and I'm getting a new number.
Of course during the divorce she also said do you want me to go over there and kill him for you on my lunch hour...? She is too funny! My lawyers office and the ex's company were almost across the street from each other in some high priced real estate downtown.
That is how this feels, one minute you are strong and resolute, the next you want to murder him and the next you are sad, silly and sentimental. I always remind my self now that sentimental and mental are a prefix apart. YOU can do this, We all need each other here!
