Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Hello to all my friends here on D&S. .....and all new people .
First, Happy Holidays.....Merry Christmas.....Happy new year.
The best of health and happiness to everyone.
Things are going along for me. Still married..... We're doing ok .
I kind of have the Christmas blues .......trying not to think k of past and old house, but sometimes just pops up or something triggers it. I have always loved Christmas. The divorce and abandoment by many has put a little damper on it over the last 9 years...I still try to get into the spirit . I keep telling myself : It's all about the birth of Jesus that should be celebrated. Anyway........oh, I'll make it .....couple tears here and there like always, but I'll be fine.
My cataract eye surgery on my left eye is doing good. I see so much better... And no glasses. I can read....watch TV or work on computer with no glasses. Everything is so much brighter and clear.....I can't believe it. On Jan 5th I'll go in a d get my right eye done and then I should see distance good also .
Got to go...... Love to all ... Bob . I'll continue this later......

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

Sounds like you are working on creating new holiday memories and letting the old ones go. It all takes time. There is not much you can do except be patient.
Glad your cataract surgery went well! Hope the other eye goes just as well.
Happy Holidays!
Well, all that I can say is :. I'm trying. At times I fail and fall into a slump, but climb out . Today was worst then any other that I had for a while. Had a dream about the x . Thats how I woke up. . Tried to shake it, but just got to me off and on today. But, hey........ I'm ok. At least one of my Army Veterans invited my wife and I over for Christmas day dinner. So, we won't be home alone again . Christmas Eve......nowhere to go.... We'll cook something here. I think that I really want to get into the true meaning of Christmas.....Jesus being born. If i can still get into church somewhere......that would be nice too. I may have lost all my old family of my x ,, friends and some family in my side.........I didnt loose Jesus.....and Jesus didn't loose me. Amen !!!! Anyway........ May we all find peace , understanding, and forgiveness... Love to all Bob
I will be on my own for Christmas too I think. Had a terrible blow up between my mom and brother in law over Thanksgiving, bad enough that we just this week found out we're getting together for Christmas Eve.
Really shook me up. We've never had that before in my family gatherings. We disagree, even argue sometimes, but always act polite. This actually had yelling involved. And both of them are becoming more rigid, selfish and passive aggressive with time. Not good.
So, I haven't got a place to hold everyone, if we tried to do it at Mom's place, I would have to do all the work myself, she doesn't have room for everyone to sit, and my sis and bro-in-law would have to haul everything for the families and their 2 girls..... It would be an awful set up. Just praying people can keep it light, about love and kindness, instead of judgment and criticism..... especially since my brother's passing, and who knows how long we'll have Mom? ....or any of us if truth be told?
Perhaps you can get something special for your Christmas Eve dinner? A little steak, or lobster, or even a perfect roast, some bubbly or creamy eggnog, and a little candle-light. Sometimes the smallest dinner parties are the best! Have a blessed Christmas my friend.
MNMama,. I hope that it works out for you on Christmas . If someone flares up I think you would be better to just leave rather then upset yourself. I did buy food for Christmas Eve just in case we dont go out to eat. I forgot about the eggnog ( thanks) I'll pick some up today. I love eggnog. I'm really hoping that can fine a place to go out. Just to be around other people and not by ourselves . Maybe a Christmas atmosphere. Sometimes it hurts to see other families all together, but I'm happy for them. Feeling down still. Like if said :. Wish that I could spend some time with Grandchildren...... But what's the difference....I don't think they know me anymore anyway. So, really doesn't matter., Screw my x and her family for all they did to me. Take care Bob
Not going to say that it doesn't bother me...it does, but. I don't know.......I just go on........like I'm finally saying /feeling : ok, I give up. Here it is 2017. Wow! 2017. Well this year should be a good year ... All my dental work done. Cataract and new lens operation will be over ( This month.). One more eye to go. I have other medical issues that" God willing" are somewhat under control. So, I'm hoping that I'm ok this coming year . I plan on doing a lot of traveling. Just in the USA . To many problems in many foreign counties . Don't trust going anymore.. I still haven't ruled out to do some traveling in a camper. Either purchase or rent. I know y wife doesn't want t to, but..........ohhhhhh, I'm getting older an d feel that i want to do some of those" bucket list " things of life. This is all........God Willing.
The best to everyone.......god bless. Bob
Wishing you the very best in 2017!
