Welcome to the group wiseman49. Sorry to hear your STBX (soon to be ex) did not want to participate in reconciling your marriage. My situation was a bit similar, but this isn't about me. You wrote "time to heal, recover and move forward," that is a great attitude to have. I am here to tell you that there is life after divorce and it can be a good one. Keep reaching out and posting here and on other boards, it really helps to journal too. You mentioned you belong to a church, I suggest you see if they host Divorce Care classes, lots of people here have found them helpful.

Sorry you find yourself here, but welcome to the group. You have definitely come to the right place. So many wonderful people with so much support. There is life after divorce. The rollercoaster of emotions you will experience is normal. Just take it one day at a time. It's just making it a conscious effort everyday to live life to the fullest.

Welcome I'm fairly new myself and DS has helped me tons I owe my current path of recovery to this site and therapy, It's wonderful being able to relate to people who understand what your going through. Sorry no time machine here shoot if I did I might go back a couple of years and get out earlier… lol

Hi wiseman, welcome here. Sorry you needed to come looking for a place like this. Sorry your wife did not love back. That was my situation, too, and I didn't see it for 20 years!! How blind can one be, really? In the end, one has to laugh about it, but you may not be ready for that yet. I admire your commitment and your loyalty. Now those two things will help you to do what you have to do to heal yourself.

I think we all have our own time machine, our own time schedule, and that's partly the reason we stay in a marriage that is effectively over. It also determines how long we each take to move through all the steps to recovery.

All the best, mate. Looks like you've already accepted things as they are and that's one of the most important steps.

You found a wonderful place here. I joined after my separation last August and it has truly been a lifesaver. The people here are so loving and supportive. I am so sorry about your situation. I would never wish this experience on my worst enemy.

BTW, if you find a time machine sign me up too and drop me off in the future but only if I don't age. :)
