My dear please know that i have been just where you are.. I was determined to not ask for help. I have been independent all my life and I was so proud. Well I have children, so I am not able to be proud. I had to ask for help.. My work gave me 500.00 so I could buy propane, my church gave me 200.00 so I could buy groceries. YES I had to ask, and yes it just about killed me, but when I closed my eyes at night I knew my girls were warm and that they had food. MY inlaws are very very wealthy. They could help me but they won't...Neither will my ex. My mom paid for stuff for me, my sister helped. ASK!!!, people want to help.
My girls know that Christmas will be slim pickins, and they are ok. We will bake baby Jesus a birthday cake and go to my moms and know that we are blessed. I have 100.00 that I have hid for a rainy day, can I send it to you??

O Chirssy love I am so sorry. I wish there was some thing I could do for you. Everyone here is right, you need to ask for help and that means your inlaws. I would also suggest putting an add on craigslist in the wanted department. You would be supprised at what you could get. Hugs love , I am praying for you .

This is bad, but you live in Michigan and that is the car capital of the world. Is there anyone who moonlights as a mechanic and would fix it? Is there a technical college with an auto school that might help you out. I am just brainstorming. Can you borrow a car from anyone? Steal one? Can we hire someone to steal it? ( just kidding)

I really know how you feel, I swear for ahwile I had one thing after another, every week it was something. I put one fire out and another popped up. I still do, and believe me I feel your pain, I go out now and think, please don't let anyone slide into me or I hope that this car holds up. I am not going to say it is going to get better, I will reverse it, it surely can't get worse. Hugs!

Yeah - frankly I applied for food stamps, a housing subsidy - and I'm going to look for a cheap place to fix my car because it's acting up - and you know what - no guilt - just using all the resources I can find to make my way through. go apply for food stamps, ask the worker there about possible assistance to fix the car so you can work and use every resource available. Call the local women's shelter and ask for advice - they surely know all the resources. If you need to talk I am here - though a lot frazzled due to work and child issues, but you know we can share each other's burdens better than one alone! This will improve - I know it will! For you and for me - for all of use - let's just use our wits and use available resources!
