Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
I've been in it longer than you. Tomorrow is the one year mark for him walking out of my life. I had to see him 4 days this week and it really wasn't that bad. Indifference is the key for me. Practice it every time you see him. You get so used to it and they finally realize they can't push you around anymore.
Hugs my friend.
I am so glad for your state of mind. It must be wonderful to have some hope.
Sending hugs
Oh my yes, you are so right, the best is yet to come indeed!
A year ago, I can honestly say I didn't care if I lived or not. I never would have done anything to hurt myself - I just didn't care. I hurt more than I could believe. The pain and depression were overwhelming and seemed unending.
Now, I cannot believe how I feel. I never would have believed I could ever feel good again! My faith, family and girlfriends helped get me here. I will still have sad moments and sometimes tears, but no more despair.
I climbed up a 25 foot double ladder this weekend and trimmed tree branches! I hung a marvelous rope hammock swing from that tree limb, and when I took my first swing in it, I thought I was in heaven!
Ahhhh, the pleasure of the small things in life.
To those who still hurt so much and think your life is over, IT IS NOT! You will NOT always feel this way!
Believe this from a 61 year old who loves to climb trees! I am woman hear me roar!
Hugs to everyone today!
