Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

drink too much , talk too much, eat too much, likly to laugh just the right amount and then sleep past 8
away, man i'd like to be in a pub and strike up a conversation with a member of the fairer gender, God just to have some playful banter back and forth and fell normal for 15 minutes

I've been on a few holidays to the beach where I can go to feed the dolphins and have thoroughly enjoyed some time alone during each one. I tend to invite my daughter and her little family along because otherwise they wouldn't get a holiday at all. It backfired a bit this year, though. We all got sick, and so began weeks of illness, pneumonia and two stays in hospital for me!! Bit scared to organise another one just yet!!
I'm looking forward to a time when I will feel I can venture off on my own, to enjoy a cruise or a tour. I know that other people do it and have a good time, so why not us?
love and hugs

The first summer, I cried every weekend. But now I love the time I get ther.
What I struggle with is taking the kids somewhere by myself. I want to take them to the Dominican this Christmas, and I am so nervous.
I can't let them run wild as they are still young, so can we have fun if I have no one to tag team with. If were all at the beach , the kids hav to get out of the water if I go to get a drink. If my son wakes up at 6 am, he has to wait until my daughter and I wake up to go for breakfast.
If I find it to hot in the sun, they have to leave the water to come to the shade. Not having someone to tell will be so hard.
I am already dreading Christmas, and am determined that the boys and I go somewhere. However, they are 19 and 22 and may not like that plan. They also may be at their dad's (though I highly doubt it). If they do not want to go somewhere with me, I will go somewhere by myself.
My sister was single all her life, and she got tired of wIting for a companion to go to Italy with her, so she went with a tour group, where she knew no one. Got to know a few, and had a great time.
Traveling was something my ex and I loved to do, and I admist, that first business trip pulling my bag up the walkway to the plane all alone, I almost lost it, thinking about how we'd never do it together again, but I,m glad I got past that and can go and have a bit of fun.
