That is a fast paced group and theey're a group that has been around a while. The age range varies so does the lenght of marriage.... but it can be enlightening....AJJ

Yeah - already I'm understand it better with a few replies to my post. They are right, laughter sometimes helps to distract you from the real pain.

Actually they've been very nice with the feedback. I'm glad because I really didn't intend to upset anybody - I'm just pretty outspoken - sometimes not a good thing.

Yea, I like sitting on the back porch here, sipping a glass of wine and enjoying the evening with all you wonderful ones. It's such a comfortable & warm place to be. I just love it here. I haven't really gotten much from Divorce and Breakups. I agree, Chrissy, with a lot of what you're saying. And, I think that there are a lot of differences between getting a divorce after 20 years and getting one after 5. The majority of us share comments on a lot of more common issues because of that. It's like finding a shoe that fits right. Hugs.

I had a member from this group ask me to help last Friday night with a post from a woman and the people that were drinking (like we don't) were taking it over and this was the ladies first night. I asked them to calm down and remember it was her first night and other people said things too. Many of them are in their 20's and maybe 30's. If I ever see a new person on there that sounds like my age group I go read the profile and if it works out I suggest this place.

Chrissy I agree, the other site does get carried away at times, which can be difficult for any new members. I admire you for speaking up. What I appreciate about this group is that we all share something in common which is maturity :) and previous long term marriages.

There are times when I enjoy the humor, especially that sarcastic Tup-something - whatever his name is. I have to admit that the f-word and others are flying out of my mouth lately, too , something I hope will go away with time (like the anger). This site is more emotionally mature and there really are different issues when married 20+ years. This is the place to be!

Honestly, when I came back to Daily Strength after being gone for awhile, I went on the divorce/ breakup board and could not relate well with some of the conversations. I believe like someone said above, there is a big age gap between the people on that board and the people here. Once I came here, I felt right at home and everyone continues to be supportive and considerate of each other. I feel blessed to have such a place to go too and to know such wonderful people!! Chrissy, I totally agree. I would be lost without DS, yet if I had not found this group I would probably not. I belong to other groups but this is the one that subtains me and you people are how I think about daily. Just a few days ago I posted "Over 40 ?" alot there but again turned to group chat. But i wonder if there is alot there that need a special group because more mature but yet doesn't belong here (under 20+ yrs. I also wonder if there is some that need a group about inrecible differences other than infidelity? The thing I have found about other groups is that they are small and don't post or answer for days or weeks. Even though there may be difference though we still hurt and understand and here try to help each other.
The only grip I have with DS and I have wrote them(no response) is when they "Improved" this site this summer is we/groups lost the view other post under advatars in which gives you so much in peoples thoughts, stories, & hearts. Even the home page does not not list our responses to each other on this group. I miss this and use to get so much out of it.IMO

I know I am so thankful that Sld1 found me and told me about this sight. Everyone is so understanding of everything I am going through. I find all of you so full of wonderful encouragement that makes me move a step further every day .
Chrissy i know when i read alot of there posts there I too sometimes wonder . I just try to remind myself they are alot younger then myself . They have many realations just come and go most of them do not what it is like to spend over half your life with someone just to find yourself alone. Trying to pick up the pieces of what is left. I guess that is why I think we go and read there posts just incase we find someone that needs to be here with us. Here we have more compassion and empathy for what others are going through.
