Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Hi everyone, ya, still kicking. Just not as high. ha , ha. I'm back in the suburb of Chicago, along with all the smoke from Canada. Had to stay in house for two days. Smoke was really bad. I see my x here and there. we say hi to each other, but keep the conversation short. Hey, you know I been divorced now for ( I think) 15 years. wow, time flys bye. And been married for 13 years . My wife is nice. We get along most of the time. She and I laugh alot at stupid things we do sometimes. . ........I wonder how everyone of the old group are doing. Where did life take them. We wear all so close at one time. Yes, I wonder ! Some great people . well, better be going. . if and when someone reads this, drop me a line. let me know where life took you. As always ,my dear old friends . take care. be safe. Always, Timeman ( Bob)

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

It's always so good to hear from you! We had a lot of that Canadian smoke the first week in June (New England). Then it got better.
Nothing is new with me. I'm still working, but seriously considering retiring in the next year or so. I'm 66 now. I like being busy and having structure to my day. But I don't have the passion for my work as I once did.
It's been almost 11 years since my divorce. My ex lives in another part of the country so I have little contact with him. An occasional text. When I saw him a few years ago, we were cordial.
I haven't dated since my divorce. I don't really feel comfortable with the online dating sites and that's pretty much how you meet people these days. I'm okay being single. I'm pretty active with friends and other activities.
I, too, wonder about the old gang. Not sure anyone stops by this site anymore. I still check-in occasionally.
Take care.
bobinmaine,im sorry, but I don't remember you. I apologise. Could be im getting old. Lol. But glad you're doing ok. Take care......Timeman
Moscato, good to hear from you. Sounds like you're getting along pretty good. That's good. Cordial, with your x. Hey life is short. When I see my x sometimes,we are cordial too. I just say hi and is she ok. Don't want a long conversation with her. (She had ac in colon cancer operation little over a year ago and I wish her well. You know what, I'm getting to old to be angry or hate anyone. Ha,Ha. Really the older I get.......the less I care.
Be careful on those dating site. I've been there and there's slot of crazy people out there. Men and woman.
Well my wife and I celebrated our 12th year anniversary. But, we've been having some serious problems in the couple of days. Doesn't look to good for us. I tried to mend things, but doesn't look good. Its a long story and I won't. get into it. Maybe " and I hope" everything will workout. All I can say, its really not my fault. I'm not getting down on myself like the fist divorce.I mean,it hurts, butI mostly have control over the emotions of it.
Ok enough of that........ Ya,I don't hear from anyone much anymore. I think three people got back to me in four years or so. I just wish them all well and you too. Guess thats it.......so take care......OH, don't wait to long to retire.while you can still get around to enjoy it..............take care Timeman......Bob
I, too, wish some of the old timers would check-in once in awhile and let us know how they are. Cowgirl Kathy was always a regular. And Dairytech. I guess everyone has moved on with their lives. I'm living a good life but I still feel some sadness over my divorce even after all these years. I'm not sure if I believe that "time heals all wounds "
Take care and keep in touch here.
