Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
IT is only going to get better. No stress ( i only respond to him now threw email , if he calls me my phone is set at silent ringer so I dont answer not even by mistake) It is so nice to come and go as you please with out some one asking where you going what are you doing , why would you do that. Yes , yes Life is just that good . Should have done it a long time ago .
I plan on staying single for a while to heal and enjoy life with friends and my three great children that I love very much.
2. I can do and buy what I want
My ex did not allow dogs to even enter our house! So, I do get a very special joy when my darling black Lab sweet "Hope" jumps into bed at night or runs happily to greet and kiss me when I come home! Unconditional love and no cooking required!
Also - another big one - MUSIC!! The kind I like to hear, whenever I want, as loud as I want!
I love cleaning my house and it stays clean for more than a day
Any decisions are mine to make - right or wrong
I can decorate the way I want to
I don't have to cook if I don't want to
And like others here, I can listen to music instead of the TV being the background noise.
I look at what I have achieved on my own, a cute little house that I rent but it looks over the river with a patio
A great job
I bought a new 2009 Honda Accord, may not be loaded but don't really need it to be.
I am paying my bills on time
I am living my life my way....loving every minute of it! :)
I like being able to do what I want to do when I want to do it.
I like knowing I don't live with someone who is sweet to my face and betraying me behind my back.
I like me. When I was with him, I got the feeling that there wasn't a lot to like about me. I was wrong.
All my married life I was introduced as "My Wife"
WE would go places and he would say"I would like you to meet My Wife"
He never used my name. I did not realize this till just recently. (sad but true) I now intoduce myself, using my name. I feel like I AM somebody.
Not just someone's wife.
I am happy about who I am now.
