Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

Even here at this group
You will see a lot of woman post that then have no interest in men
It seems that some get offended that a man would show interest as THEY are fine and don't need or want a man, that gets old when you are a man
Not all men are to blame for thier marriages going south
Some actually didn't cheat and were cheated on
Some aren't takers
Some are good men
All that being said ,
Put yourself out there were you cross paths with the opposite gender
I met my hubbie 17 years ago. My then teenage daughter told me that would have a better chance at being struck by lighting than finding a special friend at my age. Well screw that! I was no where near as pretty as you describe yourself but I used char? He was married, but told me that I'd made his day. He introduced me to his single brother. We dated a bit, but I was intent on finding Mr. Right. So, I kept flirting and if I saw a man I like, I walked right up and struck up a conversation. Not one of them was anything but pleased to be getting a little attention.
The pickings were slim, so I got on the internet and began flirting with guys from other countries. I stuck to countries were the guys spoke English. I found Irish men to be a little preoccupied with sex. The Scottish men were a little nicer about it but tried to drive the conversation there in short order. Well, needless to say British men were quite gentlemanly. I picked my husband out of a chat room on AOL back in the day (The Transatlantic Chat Room). He was funny, intelligent and thoroughly charming. He loved that a women picked him out of the group to flirt with. Long story short, he came for a visit and we hit it off in person. He stayed about a month, and then went back, quick his job, packed his things and came back to the US. We got married almost a year after first chatting on line. I wouldn't trade him for anything and just between you and me, the imports are much better. My husband loves to brag about how I pursued him. His guy friends always try to flirt with me, but I now save all my flirting for the love of my life.
The bottom line is, if you want a man you will probably have to go out and get him.
If you LOVE yourself you just have to exude CONFIDENCE and it will make all the difference! Give it a try, my friend.
I also have had men say your pushing me away and I can't see it myself but I am afraid of trusting again so that is probably true. The other thing I can see is I am not exposing myself to situations where I can even find someone. So I am trying to work on the stuff that's mine to work on.
I also need to work on loving myself so that is keeping me pretty busy too. I am just really thankful that I am not in the same brutal place I was when I first came on this website. That pain was unbearable !!!
HUGS to you all.
