Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

Yes, I'm really feeling that way today. I've never felt this kind of anger before, ever.
My attorney filed for divorce, the day after it had been a year since we separated. No complaints about that! Why my previous attorneys wouldn't file for support and maintenance before now, I will never understand even after multiple requests to do so. Now, my husband has refused to pay off my Visa bill, which has been my support this year, now at $15,000+. Still trying to make it be "part of the settlement." Yesterday, an APR was added to the balance. Aaarrrgh!!!! My attorney requested his attorney to make him pay it yesterday. No response.
I don't feel comfortable using that card anymore. Why should my credit suffer at the hands of this monster? Thanksgiving isn't going happen here. My daughter will be crushed. She'll want to know why. What the hell do I tell her? Christmas? Not going to happen. Can't afford it.
And then, yesterday his attorney finally sends over a response to our proposal of Nov. 5th. It sucks. It's about $150,000 less than it should be. Seriously? I wonder if he's sending over "crap" like that to make me cave just to get this over with. I've had it. This back and forth with nothing getting accomplished has been going on for a year.
Oh, I am so pissed. I'm in yet another catch 22. It's been like this all frigging year long. When is this going to end???

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...

Just in trying to keep up with your ordeal, it doesn't surprise me that he offered less and that he refused to pay the cc off. I hope the lawyer can get it back for you.
I gave in for health reasons because the stress of it all was getting to me. I regretted it for ages, but have realised I did actually do the best thing for myself in the end.
It's your choice. Don't let him push you around. Don't allow him to force you to make a rash decision. Whether you give in or whether you go on is your choice.

My ex left me with cc debt and said - well if you don't pay it - it's in your name - so too bad.
It was a cc we had used in my name for 15 yrs with the idea that it helps me build credit as a SAHM should anything ever happen.... I did not see that preemptive consideration on his part as a red effing flag back then - stupid me. We paid it off each month - or so I thought. Because he did not pay it off every month the last yr we were married. Of course he had always insisted on taking care of the bills. So...I had no idea. He had more than enough to pay it in full - he chose not to.
I can tell you that it can drag out - esp w kids involved. Mine estranged my kids from me using money and painting me as a POS woman worth nothing and it worked for him. I am not suggesting this will happen - but I had no idea it could drag out this long with side effects.
I am sorry you are experiencing this crap
