People execute this kind of document all the time -- it has nothing to do with divorce, although it can be related. A divorce decree has no bearing on Quit Claim Deeds other than if executing such is agreed upon.
In addition, it's not unusual for one attorney to contact another via FAX or email. It actually saves time which saves YOU money. No doubt, you are going to have to do some additional filing and it sounds to me like you are going to be headed back to court for some kind of hearing on the matter. Depending on how much money you stand to get vs. what the legal fees are going to be it's probably worth it. AND if his refusal to settle up with you on an amount that is in writing in your decree, HE may very well get stuck paying for YOUR legal representation as well as his own.
Good luck with this!
Would it matter if he filled out paperwork on his house as single? I know for a fact it ran through on my credit report. I saw it. I don't want to do a repeat but if my lawyer knows what to go then I will sit back and watch. Even judge was confused csea waived arrears. Such is my luck. Lol
