Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
newbies... a reflection

"I've almost been divorced for a year now. I went through a 5 year divorce and started to believe it would never happen with all the stalls and games my ex pulled.
However, I look back now and realize how strong it made me. I reflect daily on where I started and where I am now. Curves are thrown at me daily and it will take about 2 years to clean up the financial and property mess my ex left me to take care of. It doesn't bother me and I'm handling it like a big girl :)
Somehow, everything seems to be falling into place as it should because I have taken the necessary steps in just concentrating on me and taking care of of minute details....which means I have no time to think about my ex.
He only lives a mile away but I never speak to him or see him and that is fine with me. He still never came to pick up an asset that he whined about in court ( an old rusted out trampoline with missing parts that he was hoping to sue me over...he thought I got rid of it). It is folded up and out of site, so it is not an issue.
The point I am getting at is that the more I concentrated on me and making a better life for myself, the better things have gotten for me. This is a reminder that when you have come to acceptance that the relationship is over and only concentrate on your own life, then the healing will come.
Even though much healing has come to my life, I am choosing to go solo which is pissing off my mom who wants me to start dating...lol.
I love my new life and so no relationships for now :)
Have a great weekend everyone and may you all obtain healing and peace...it's really a great place to be!"
my thoughts on this,,,,,,
:I read this every day. [my-(our) daughter even found it n a charm that I kept on my key chain.]
"God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen".
for the most part it kept me going during the dark hours,,,,,
I have since started a relationship with a lady in my hometown,,,,, nothing really serous but none the less a relationship, as I continue to move down the path of life..... I continue to grow, returning to the person that I used to be....... and life is great... so newbies...it does get better..... it can be great....it depends on YOU and letting go..... accepting that for what ever reason this is over and a new life is emerging and it is what YOU make it...,,,,, living life with what ever it hands out,,,,, and making the best of it........

I had gone to the grocery store. When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute. A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked. I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds. But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026. I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away. It was an ordinary middle age...
