I have a court hearing on Monday regarding short and long term spousal support from the stbx. My attorney has asked me to bring our severely disabled son who lives with me to the hearing. A lot of the reason that I need spousal support is because I put my career on hold to care for our children, especially our son who is disabled. I know the stbx will go balistic when he sees that I have brought our son to the hearing. My attorney believes that the referee/judge needs to understand the extent of the responsiblity that the stbx has thrown on me since his departure in October. The stbx has not stepped up to help out much with our son. It has been almost one month since he has seen him. The stbx wouldn't even talk to me about the possibility of spousal support until my attorney requested this hearing. When the stbx found out about the hearing, he called me and wanted to talk about the spousal support together with our attorneys. I agreed to do this, but the stbx has yet to make that meeting happen, so my attorney has recommended that we move forward with the hearing. I know my attorney is working hard for me, but I still feel very anxious about this hearing. I appreciate your prayers to get me through all of this nervous anxiety and for a good outcome for me and my kids.
