Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Dear Friends, WOW how time has flown by.... I hope and pray that all of you are finding peace and healing. It's been 14 months since the day my life fell apart and my husband of 23 years just walked out on all of us. My journey to find a new life again has been filled with ups and downs twist ad turns. There has been laughter and of course tears.... LOTS AND LOTS OF TEARS but through Prayer, Faith and a belief that all of us are better than our circumstances life has finally started to turn around for me. I have a new place new friends and next fall I will start teaching more Music along with Kindergarten. Shelby is out on her own living with friends and starting college next fall just as it should be no longer having to put her life on hol to help Austin and I. I'm still waiting for my final Divorce Date trial set for sometime in late June. The stbx won't even know what hit him. Having his wages garnished now and he is living with another woman and her child so now they will combined her income with his making my support go up. In AZ once you set up residence with another person and share expenses the income gets combined. Something tells me she won't keep him around long once she has to support him fully because were taking all of his.
A friend asked me the other day why don't I just take what he offered me and be done with it already. I just looked at her and said " It's about no longer excepting anything less than what i'm worth" I could just take the table scraps he and his mid life milly are willing to give me and my son or I can STAND UP AND SAY NO MORE!!!! I will no longer be the loving, caring person that took care of you for 23 years and then you just crapped all over it. Nope I know what i'm worth now and i'm a lot stronger, smarter, and capable of standing up for myself now. He couldn't believe that I rejected his lame ass offer. Now he's pleading with me to change my mind even raising the offer but I think he needs to go back in front of the Judge again and answer to him... Lord help him on that day.
I hope all of you are realizing what your worth and none of us can be defined by our circumstances. From the ashes we will rise!!! KEEP LIVING, KEEP REACHING FOR THE STARS, KEEP DREAMING SOMETIMES THEY DO COME TRUE.

"It's about no longer excepting anything less than what I'm worth" I am trying so hard to find my self worth and know that I will be happy someday.
I wish Ohio had the same law AZ does about the ex and ow living together--I would have loved to have used that against my ex.
