Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
God will always be beside you ........ Have no fear.

I, too, held close to the fact that any real "punishment" will come from the Lord in due time. There is a passage in the Bible that says "Revenge is mine, sayeth the Lord." That really helped me and when I stopped wishing bad things to befall the now-X, MY life got a whole lot better.
Yes, divorce IS a rollercoaster. You will continue to have bad times and not-so-bad times. My best advice to you is to roll with the interim punches and do your very best to keep your eyes focused on the horizon -- KNOWING that God wants a better, more emotionally healthy life for YOU.
I have a little prayer that I still use during difficult times. That is "Heavenly Father, give me what I need right now." And usually within a very short time, I start to feel better. I learned that I cannot ask for specifics because God alone KNOWS what each of us needs at any given time.
I will continue to hold you in my thoughts and prayers. KNOW that it DOES GET BETTER -- it just takes time and sometimes big leaps of faith. But it WILL get better! xoxo
