I only have positives to report.
I do not have to deal with him or anyone else being out of state. In the beginning my alimony came in a check from the state but I never knew when it would come so planning was difficult! But now my check is direct deposit and it comes early in the month and I love it! No Problems :)

You need to find out how to file from your new state if your ex should default on your alimony. That does happen. The ex quit paying me three times and he was in another state. I think you would have to file contempt in the state where you divorced. I hope this doesn't happen to you but you do need to find how to get your alimony if that should happen.

The ex is now two states away from me and life is wonderful. There are a lot of pluses to living in a different state from your ex.

The only disadvantage is that you wont be able to see him miserable and failing. :) But not to worry, you'll just know.

I never have wished to see my ex miserable or failing, in fact just the opposite, I wish him the very best. I especially wish him well in his career being my alimony depends on his success. :)

I didn't move, but X ran away to another state-it has been great NOT seeing him.

@iquitnow. Yes when our living depends on alimony we want to see the X's working and happy, Even if it's with a new wife. Even when I was taking him back to court I still wished him well and working. Now that the alimony is ended and I have the farm I still wish him well. He is the father of our daughter and I want her happy too.
