Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Well I'm home and I made it through the "family" dinner at my inlaws with the stbx. It went absolutely fine.
I could kick myself though because right when I got there I was giving his mom and dad hugs and kisses hello and I automatically gave him a hug and a kiss too. Shit!!!! But I redeemed myself and didn't give him one when I left. :)
He got them a gift, but as I predicted he didn't even shop for it himself. His mother did. He even joked about it, but that just disgusts me even further. What does he think his kids think about this? My daughter said he sent Nana because he doesn't even know what we like. Sadly that is probably the truth. But I also think he just didn't make the time. It is hunting season after all.
But, I looked HOT - makeup, hair, nice outfit - felt good. I even drank while I was there and since I never drink, I let loose a little and it was fun.
But it's over now - so glad. That's one less thing on my plate to worry about it. Now I just have to get through tomorrow morning. Afternoon will be fine once the kids wake up. And then on to New Years.
New Years Eve will be the biggie for me. That's gonna be a tough night. It will mark the 1 yr anniversary when my husband decided that he didn't love me. Course he didn't tell me until Feb 18, but New Years was the night he decided for good.
Anyway, I'm glad to be home, in my sweats, sitting at the computer and typing rather than still socializing at my inlaws with the stbx. Done.

I am glad it went well, and no matter where any of us go to during the holidays, friends, family, I know I am glad to get back home! This is my 2nd christmas holiday and being alone is not that bad!
The funny thing is when I was leaving, he told me to "be good". What the hell does that mean? Too funny. He's got a lot of nerve to tell me to "be good". I think he just didn't know what to say as I walked away without even giving him a second glance.
Time does work wonders - for all of us.
