Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Not too much has changed in my life. Still single. I'm not that interested in trying dating websites and that seems to be the only way to meet people these days. I do my best to enjoy and make the most of life each day as it comes.
Not too many people visit this site anymore. It's kind of sad. It used to be thriving. But maybe that means that people have moved on with their lives and don't need the support anymore. I still check in occasionally. It's nice to get updates from old friends.
Stay well Bob! Happy 77th this year! I turn 65 soon. Yikes! Where have the years gone!!
I just checked in and found these posts. I haven't been on here ever since they changed the format. I also want to agree with Moscato that I was first on here about 8 years ago (can't believe I have been divorced about 7 years now!) When he left me you guys really helped me so much!! It has taken me about most of this time to heal and move on. I am currently in a relationship for about 3 years now and it's fine but it will never be the same as my first love and husband. However, it is better than being lonely and I am the type to be with people. I know that sounds like I am settling but everyone has reasons why they want relationships and those reasons do change in time. I guess that I will never fully trust another man but I see more pluses than minuses in this relationship for now. I have definitely become much more independent because I have lived alone for so long after my husband left me. I am considering marriage again but not sure just yet. Moscato, I did meet this guy online after many other dates (about 40.) All I can say is not to give up if you want a relationship. I started dating this man at 63 years old and I just turned 66 so it's never too late. But I understand how hard it is and if this doesn't work out I probably won't go online again. I will check this site more often now that I know some people are still posting. It is great to hear what you have been doing lately. Take care, Donna
I turned 65 this year. I'm still working but contemplating retirement in the next couple of years. Overall, life is good, just not what I expected or hoped for at this stage of my life.
It would be great if some more "oldies" stop in with an update.
All the best!
Really good to hear from you. I miss the people who supported me when I first came here.
It’s been 7 years divorced for me too after 30 years married and 4 dating. I have gone out but the last guy I was seeing did not end well. Met him on FB dating. But I have met some nice guys on there just no chemistry.
