I am 75% Irish. My mother came to the US straight from Ireland - 100% blueblood. Still talks with a brogue accent. And everything is "loverly" to her. Her maiden name was Rachel Doreen O'Loughran, about as Irish as you can get.

I'm going out tonight and proudly wearing green.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! I'd like to try an Irish Coffee tonight, or maybe a dark Irish beer. Never have before. Atually, I have a little Irish in me. Have a good evening everyone!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too. I'm half Irish. My boys were trying to get me to go to the city and have dinner with their cousin (stbx's side) and have some fun. I was thinking about going until I realized there would be about 10 or so 20 somethings ready to party. I would have been stuck with the bill. No thanks. I told the kids to invite their father.

My father's mom was Irish, so I'm part Irish. We had a green party at school (I work in kindergarten). It was fun~parents sent green foods in...pickles, kiwi, parsley, snap peas, sugar-free lime jello, green apples, broccoli, Andes mints, grapes. It was so funny...the kids were asking for seconds and thirds on parsley! LOL! Here's a nice little Irish blessing:
