You are doing great. Term is what it is, super cheap but it does end at some point. For example your $100 per month might have been put in place to pay off the house if you were to die. This is very common.

I cancelled mine last year, a saving of $1,200pa.
This year, I decided to let my trauma policy go as well. It ends in 2020 anyway. A saving of $1,700pa.
It pays to shop around for house & contents and car insurance, but be careful you have the cover you require. Don't just look at the cost.

I refinanced my truck shortly after I bought it. It saved me 50 a month. I just bought three pair of shoes from amazon and Zulily. I saved about half over what I would have paid in town. I just paid off my mortgage which saved me over $500.00 a month plus the extra I always sent in. I buy off road diesel for my tractor and mower. That saves me at least 20 cents a gallon. The only thing I don't skimp on is gas for my small farm engines and my truck. I haven't had to repair the weed eaters, push mower or chain saw since I started using non-ethanol gas.

Great news, shopping around and sitting down to cut out the fat is the way to go. I use coupons as much as I can. I ad match too. That way I save on gas and time. I bought 50 rolls of toilet paper for only 4.00, 6 bars of dial soap with 2 jumbo rolls of paper towels for only .25 cents. As for that ex, let him ask around. Mine is seething with anger because I did not roll over and shrivel up. I am doing great. Let everyone know how well you are doing. You will flourish, my friend. Good advice! Hope all the newbies see this. It is possible to get back on financial footing after a divorce.

Now, I've redone my car and house insurance. I am saving almost $1,000 more than I was paying, plus I was helping my nephew in his new career. I couldn't believe the difference. I kept questioning my other insurance as to why my rates seemed so high. I have everything I need to get to within a 3 mile radius, other than the occasional road trip, I put maybe 600 miles on/year. Never got an answer, so they're gone.

Now, I have to figure this health care stuff out. Because of the health care act, my premiums may be going down, but it's a hassle to do this all over again, so I'm trying to keep with my current provider. I know from a friend who's permantly disabled and all his problems because he's on Medicare/Medicaid, but because he's only 50, he hassles with them all the time.

As I mentioned, it takes time, but search all options, and even if you're not sure, most are willing to explain.
