Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
YOU ARE NOT ALONE! WE ARE HERE FOR YOU! You are not a "burden" to any of us --- here you find friends, support, and understanding. We have been there too.
Fatallove, to be real with you, I hit bottom with depression too. I was shocked by the depth of my depression when I realized I didn't even care whether I lived or not. I would never have done anything myself, I just didn't care. The pain of my life was so intense. I was crying constantly and in bed when not at work. I isolated myself too, which doesn't help with depression. I just didn't care.
Fatallove, you don't believe it now, but you truly will not always feel this way. You have friends here. I have to say that therapy does help ALOT too. Support groups like DivorceCare help immensely. Antidepressants also have helped many of us, sometimes you have to try different ones and different doses for better effectiveness. Surround yourself with support and friends. Take care of yourself. The intense grief you feel now will eventually be part of your healing. It is unfortunately, necessary, and cannot be bypassed for recovery. You are on a difficult and painful path now, but we are here. There is light at the end.
Love and Hugs to you.
LJ
